If you’re not familiar with ISO or the 9001:2015 Quality Standard, you might be curious as to what this means to GTH and our customers. In this blog we will be outlining 9001:2015, who ISO and DQS Inc are, and the significance of this achievement.
ISO is The International Organization for Standardization, established in 1946, which brings together experts across the globe to share knowledge and develop International Standards that provide solutions to global challenges. ISO 9001:2015 quality standard specifies requirements for a Quality Management System (QMS).
ISO does not perform audits for certification. ISO is strictly responsible for creating and publishing international standards that outline best practices and requirements for various industries and processes. Certification is a process by which an independent third-party organization evaluates an organization or product to determine if it meets the requirements of a particular ISO standard. These third-party organizations are called certification bodies or registrars.
DQS Inc, a UL company, was the certification body who performed our audit. In a 2-day extensive audit the DQS Inc representative met with the head(s) of each of our departments to evaluate our QMS and the processes established within our QMS.
ISO stands for quality, confidence, trust, safety, and many positive values that align with GTH core values.
GTH brings value to our clients by utilizing our expertise in automation and control solutions to improve performance, reduce waste and provide valuable data while establishing successful partnerships throughout the lifecycle of our projects. Our culture is one of continuous improvement to benefit our employees and customers. GTH was founded on these core values that continue to drive us forward. We take pride in our culture and our people and strive to provide the best products and services to our valued customers.
These core values and mission are the foundation to which we established our quality management system. We began this journey [in 2020] to develop a QMS that met both our core values and the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard.
GTH Quality Policy
GTH is committed to meeting the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard. GTH and its employees shall provide products and services which meet all of our customers’ expectations and all applicable requirements. To meet this commitment, we will strive for continuous improvement in all areas of our business.
GTH has set the quality objectives of (1) Ensuring customer satisfaction, (2) Achieving the on-time delivery of our products, and (3) Maintaining consistently high levels of quality.
GTH is further committed to providing a work environment in compliance with all health, safety, and industry regulations.
Our QMS is a set of policies, processes, procedures, and records that are established and implemented across our organization to ensure we consistently meet or exceed our customer requirements and expectations. It consists of a quality manual, internal audit program, ongoing process improvements, procedures, non-conformances, work instructions, and other associated documentation such as forms and records. These sub-systems are interrelated and mutually supportive. They describe a comprehensive approach to improve both product and process quality.
For GTH streamlining our processes and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement are just some of the benefits of our journey to certification. We have seen through processes of documentation and nonconformance a shift in culture on how to manage errors and increase productivity. It is a team effort, and our team is focused on working towards this quality standard and maintaining our QMS together to benefit our organization and our customers.
