As a contractor who works on boilers, ovens and furnaces, have you ever had a combustion issue that you just couldn’t figure out? You try all the potential fixes and none of them work. Eventually, you went to the local FSG distributor who was able to help you or they got the manufacturer’s FSG tech support involved which helped to solve the issue.
George T. Hall Company offers FSG Seminars that cover a multitude of situations that can occur on any jobsite. Boilers, ovens, furnaces, kilns, flares, etc…all use combustion controls and can present problems if you are not familiar with them. Attendance at one of these seminars will familiarize you with the two most prevalent brands of burner controls in the industry…..Honeywell and Fireye. You will not only learn about the older controls that are still in the field, you will learn about the new ones that are now being used on OEM products.
The trainers that are used will allow you to wire up various programmers and primaries. If you wire correctly, that control will light a pilot and then a main burner….all located right on the trainer! There are also "trouble” switches. If you wired correctly and it works on the trainer, the instructor will flip one of many trouble switches and now you have to trace the problem. Why is there no pilot flame? Is it the flame rod or the pilot valve? Could it be anything else? Why is nothing happening? Was there a call for heat at all? You find the problem and then offer your solution to the instructor. He will tell you if your answer is correct.
Knowledge is what can set you apart from your competition. You can gain that knowledge by attending one of the FSG Seminars that are presented by George T. Hall Company over the course of the year.
